VoicingElder has many facets, and its exhibition can be approached from diverse perspectives: sociology, psychology, philosophy, gerontology, performing art, inter-generational communications, sustainability, global well-being and technology (artificial intelligence, human-computer interaction, virtual reality, augmented reality).
VoicingElder can also explore issues of memory, reality, and sensation connected with techno-ontology.
Potential formats include:
• video documentation of the system and its development
• written artist statements, ranging from brief descriptive text to a book-length essay dealing with memory, virtualization, and identity at the intersection of art, humanity, and technology.
• public interactive systems.
• project materials: avatar designs, animation, AI algorithm, and sound components
Live performance at the exhibit opening: an older adult volunteer can narrate his/her life story with the VoicingElder system.
